Rachel Salina

PHOTOGRAPHER | CREATIVE | DESIGNER

Hey — I’m Rachel.

Growing up, I told everyone around me I wanted to be my boss & a fashion designer (LOL). I made it very clear I wanted to live a creative life, make my own rules, and break the rules that didn’t work for me.

While I might have missed my project runway moment, I discovered my calling as an artist fueled by a passion for emotion. I’ve led creative design work for famous brands, moved from California to Texas, and back, traveled the world, fell in love, and launched my photography business.

Photography has never been about another source of income or a job I have to “get through.” As cliche as it sounds, it’s my calling. I’m passionate about capturing moments in life that will be cherished forever. Those imperfectly perfect, spontaneous moments that happen every day — if you’re paying close enough attention.

I am the photographer who will get up at dawn for a beautiful sunrise session and voluntarily get lost in the hills chasing the last glimpse of sunset. I’m a beach girl at heart. The site of water and sand inspires me, like no other. Not to mention, I am borderline obsessed with capturing genuine, authentic love.

I promise to bring my sense of humor (have you heard any good cow jokes lately?) if you promise to be your authentic self and trust that we will have the most fabulous time together.

My Philosophy

I am based in Santa Cruz, CA. I specialize in honest, intimate photos from authentic moments.

Couples. Brands. Boudoir. Elopements. Intimate Weddings. Motherhood.

I do not believe in perfection, and neither should you. You are beautiful as you are, so let’s celebrate that. I vow to help you act natural, feel confident in front of the camera, and get to know you & be your friend.

Planning is one of my specialties. Ever since I was young, I have been detail-oriented. While my style is candid, I will always tell you if you’re doing something strange with your hand or if your top is riding a little too high, fix your hair and make sure your tag isn’t sticking out.

Our time together shouldn’t feel like a chore, so let me do what I do best — I’ve got you covered.
